<i>Leishmania major</i> Infection in Synanthropic Rodents: Evidence for the Urbanization of Zoonotic Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (ZCL) in Southern Iran

<div>PCR-based amplification of kDNA gene. Bands on the electrophoresis gel are related to PCR of DNA extracted from the lesion (Lm1) or spleen tissue samples (Lm 2–5) of <i>R. rattus</i> (Lm1), <i>R. rattus</i> (Lm2), <i>M. musculus</i> (Lm3), and <i>Meriones persicus</i> (Lm5). Reference samples of <i>Leishmania infantum</i> (Li+), <i>L. tropica</i> (Lt+), and <i>L. major</i> (Lm+) and negative control (C−) were included.</div>
