Vu is the ultimate shear strength, Vd is the design shear strength, ∆u is the ultimate lateral displacement, ∆y is the maximum elastic lateral displacement, Ω is the overstrength factor, and Rµ is the ductility factor. Ry is the factor that overestimates the capacity of the brace according to AISI [23].
