Indentation Curves in Viscoplastic Alloys: Mathematical Model, Fitting Procedures, and Application to the Room-Temperature Creep of an Al-Sn Alloy

Original data for steel (a) and brass (b) as compared to corrected data ((c) steel, (d) brass), with the fitting curve plotted in red. The measured data for the steel calibration block (4 curves) show a remarkably low dispersion and so the effect of the data correction appears to be small. For the brass calibration block (6 curves), the benefits of the procedure are easily observable (quantitative details are given in Table 1).
