VOLN27B: A New Head-Tailed Halovirus Isolated from an Underground Salt Crystal and Infecting Halorubrum

Figure 4

Influence of cultivation temperature on virus stability and its adsorption time. To determine whether VOLN27B is an enveloped virus, virus stock was resuspended with equal volume of chloroform (1 : 1; ), then performed the plaque formation assay. Cultivation temperature after infection would impact the production of viruses. No visible plaques were observed when cells of strain Halorubrum sp. LN27 were cultivated at 30°C or lower (a). The adsorption time for VOLN27B to its host, Halorubrum sp. LN27, was less than 1 min () (b).
