Quantitative analysis of high-power fields (HPFs) in (a) and (b) was carried out by confocal microscopy software (Leica, TCS-SP2). The results were expressed as mean values ± SD. A P-value was considered statistically significant. Data are from 1 of 5 experiments that all gave similar results.
