Rapid Decrease of CD16 (FcγRIII) Expression on Heat-Shocked Neutrophils and Their Recognition by Macrophages

Surface expression of Fcγ receptor III (CD16) is reduced by heat shock. Neutrophils incubated for 90 min. at indicated temperatures were stained with PE-conjugated antihuman CD16 mAb and analyzed by flow cytometry. The Mean Fluorescence Intensity (MFI) values were calculated against the signal from isotype control and they represent neutrophils positive for CD16. Results (mean ± standard deviation) from four experiments are presented.
