Cytotoxicity of L. monocytogenes (a) and B. subtilis (b) strains supernatants on Jurkat cells. Cytotoxicity of bacterial strain supernatants on the Jurkat cell line. Listeria monocytogenes (a) and Bacillus subtilis (b) supernatants were added to Jurkat cell cultures, and incubated for 1 h or 30 min, respectively. Eukaryotic cells were stained for viability, and after 30 minutes were observed under fluorescent microscope. The DP-Soft program was used to determine the level of cytotoxicity induced by proteins produced by the bacterial strains. The bars indicate the means of the counts from three independent experiments, and the bars show the standard deviations.
