DNA binding activity of purified RtelN. (a) ssDNA binding activity of RtelN. A fluorescence-labeled ssDNA (0.5 μM) was incubated with the indicated amount of protein. FhuF is an iron-sulfur protein that has no DNA binding activity. SSB is E. coli ssDNA binding protein. The DNA-protein complex and free DNA probe were resolved on a 0.6% agarose gel. (b) dsDNA binding activity of RtelN. A fluorescence-labeled dsDNA (0.5 μM) was incubated with the indicated amount of protein. The DNA-protein complex and free DNA probe were resolved on a 0.6% agarose gel. The results are representatives of three independent experiments.
