On the left limb (right on the image) the femoral nerve was cut and the proximal and distal stumps were buried in the collagen sheets (pink rectangles) and sealed with the silicon layer. The vascular bundle (blue and red lines) was freely dissected from collateral vessels to maintain the flow-through model.
