Curcuma longa Is Able to Induce Apoptotic Cell Death of Pterygium-Derived Human Keratinocytes

Immunofluorescence analysis of cultured human keratinocytes derived from pterygium explants labelled with anti-cytokeratin CAM 5.2 antibody to determine the purity of cultured cells (% positive cells) and with CD140 (no positive cells were detected) to verify fibroblastic contamination. Original magnification: 40x. The observations were carried out using a ZEISS Axioskop light microscope equipped with a Coolsnap video camera to acquire images analysed with the MetaMorph 6.1 Software (Universal Imaging Corp, Downingtown, PA).
