Segmentation analysis of SPECT/CT images. The program detects the compact bone border, on a slice-by-slice basis, by identifying the abrupt change of Hounsfield value (segmented edge). The mean density value of this volume is used to tell apart the trabecular bone () from the metastases volume () on the voxels lying inside the detected surface. The program then generates two masks, corresponding to and to , which are exported to the coregistered SPECT images, from which the functional information is extracted.
