Atorvastatin Inhibits Breast Cancer Cells by Downregulating PTEN/AKT Pathway via Promoting Ras Homolog Family Member B (RhoB)

Atorvastatin upregulates the expression of RhoB and activates the PTEN/AKT pathway. MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with 4μM ATO and MCF-7 cells were treated with 2 μM ATO for 48 h. (a) RhoB and PTEN mRNA expression were upregulated after the treatment of ATO which was analyzed by RT-qPCR. (b) RhoB protein expression was detected by Western blotting in breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231. (c) The effect of ATO on the protein levels of RhoB, PTEN, p-AKT, and AKT.
