Knockdown of PRDX2 promotes cell apoptosis by regulating the Bcl-2/Bax axis and caspase cascade. (a) Hoechst33342/PI staining assay was used to assess apoptosis in A549 and H1299 cells when PRDX2 was silenced. (b) Flow cytometry analysis was performed to measure the percentage of apoptotic cells in A549 and H1299 cells after indicated treatment. (c) The expression of apoptosis-related proteins, Bcl-2, Bax, cleaved caspase 9, and cleaved caspase 9, was examined using western blot analysis. (d) Apoptosis in A549 cells transfected with PRDX2 inhibitor was measured by flow cytometry analysis. (e) Apoptosis in BEAS-2B cells transfected with si-PRDX2 was measured by flow cytometry analysis. .
