Tanshinone IIA Alleviates CCL2-Induced Leaning memory and Cognition Impairment in Rats: A Potential Therapeutic Approach for HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorder
Figure 5
Effect of different doses of Tan IIA 25, Tan IIA 50, and Tan IIA 75 (mg/kg) on the oxidative stress status in CCL2-treated rats. The supernatant of the hippocampus homogenate was used for the assay of SOD, GSH-PX activity, and MDA levels. A significant increase in (a) SOD and (c) GSH-PX activity in Tan IIA treatment groups (Tan IIA(L): 25 mg/kg, Tan IIA(M): 50 mg/kg; Tan IIA(H): 75 mg/kg) compared with model group. (b) A significant reduction in MDA levels in Tan IIA treatment groups compared with the model group. All data are expressed as the mean ± SEM (n = 8, , versus model, versus sham).
