HbA1C Variability Is Strongly Associated with Development of Macroalbuminuria in Normal or Microalbuminuria in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Six-Year Follow-Up Study

Kaplan–Meier plots indicating the percentage of macroalbuminuria in 110 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus without initial macroalbuminuria. The patients were divided into four groups (normal albuminuria with low HbA1c-SD, normal albuminuria with high HbA1c-SD, microalbuminuria and low HbA1c-SD, and microalbuminuria and high HbA1c-SD). The value was obtained by log-rank comparison of data (Log-rank value = 0.002).
