N2-fixation by the endophytic P. polymyxa SK1. The isolated strain was inoculated on nitrogen-deficient malate medium (NFM) and was observed for growth in reference to nonnitrogen fixing E. coli DH5α. Growth of both strains on NFM medium (a) and NFM medium supplemented with 5 mM NH4Cl (b).
