Synthesis of 2-(2-Hydroxyethoxy)-3-hydroxysqualene and Characterization of Its Anti-Inflammatory Effects

<div>Effects of (a) squalene (SQ) and (b) 2-(2-hydroxyethoxy)-3-hydroxysqualene (HEHSQ) on the viability of RAW264.7 cells. RAW264.7 cells were treated with SQ or HEHSQ at 1, 10, and 100 <i>µ</i>g/mL for 24 h. Cell viability was measured by MTT assay. Values are expressed as the mean ± SD of triplicate experiments and are expressed relative to the percentage of control.
