[Retracted] In Vitro Evaluation of Cytotoxic Potential of Caladium lindenii Extracts on Human Hepatocarcinoma HepG2 and Normal HEK293T Cell Lines
Figure 1
Graphical representation: In vitro assessment of ethanolic and hexane extracts of C. lindenii on HepG2 and HEK293T cell lines. (a) MTT assay results showed a significantly increased mortality rate of HepG2 cells after treatment with higher concentrations at 72 h. (b) HEK293T being a normal cell line revealed less toxicity of ethanolic extract only at the highest concentrations (400, 200 μg/mL) as compared to hexane extract. (c) Hexane concentration on HepG2 cells showed less effect. (d) HEK293T cell line revealed less or no activity of hexane extract. Cisplatin was used as positive control and showed more negative effects against normal cell line, however, DMSO was taken as a negative control. , , and referred as statistically significant. Error bars showed error or standard deviation as of each group. MTT: 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2yl)-2, 5-biphenyl tetrazolium bromide; DMSO: dimethyl sulfoxide; SD: standard deviation.
