ESM1 Is a Promising Therapeutic Target and Prognostic Indicator for Esophageal Carcinogenesis/Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Figure 5
Correlation between ESM1 expression and clinical stage/grade as well as overall survival probability of ESCC patients. Data derived from TCGA dataset. (a) ESM1 expression levels in patients with clinical stage I, stage II, and stage III disease were significantly higher than those in healthy controls. The prognosis of the three groups was not significantly different. (b) Regarding T stage, the ESM1 expression level in patients with T1-T4 stage disease was higher than that in normal healthy controls. T4 patients had the lowest survival rate. (c) Compared with normal healthy controls, the more lymph node metastases there were, the higher the ESM1 expression, except at the N2 stage. The number of metastatic lymph nodes correlates inversely with OS. (d) ESM1 expression was higher in patients with involvement of peripheral organs. The prognosis of patients with distant organ metastasis is poor. , , and .
