The inflammatory cells and damage factors can activate HSC in liver tissue and increase the synthesis of TGF-β1, which led to proliferation of fibrous connective tissue and upregulated the expression of CTGF. And the synthesis and transformation of fibroblasts into myofibroblasts, thereby regulating the expression of α-SMA, were increased the synthesis of ECM and caused liver fibrosis finally.
