ERK1/2-Dependent Inhibition of Glycolysis in Curcumin-Induced Cytotoxicity of Prostate Carcinoma Cells

A scheme for curcumin-induced cytotoxicity in prostate carcinoma cells preadapted to lactic acid. ERK1/2 inhibition by curcumin causes reduced glycolysis, mitochondrial dysfunction, and cellular ATP depletion, thereby activating executioners leading to apoptosis and necroptosis.
