DcR3 protein is abundantly detected in ascitic fluid of cirrhotic patients. Serum and ascitic fluid were concomitantly obtained from individual patients with cirrhosis and the concentration of DcR3 was measured by ELISA in both. The ascites-to-serum ratio was determined.
