Expression of cellular Ki-67 and p27 in cultured HepG2 cells. (a) Immunofluorescent staining of Ki-67 and immunohistochemical staining of p27 in HepG2 cells. The magnification of the objective lens was 20-fold and that of the ocular lens was 10-fold, so the total magnification was 200-fold. Ki-67 protein expression was almost undetectable in cells treated with 100 μM I-ol. In contrast, p27 expression increased by many times compared to both control groups. (b) Western blot analysis of p27 expression in protein extracts. The marked increase in p27 protein expression caused by I-ol treatment correlated very well with the previous results obtained with cultured cells. Representative images are shown.
