Differential Infectivity of Human Neural Cell Lines by a Dengue Virus Serotype-3 Genotype-III with a Distinct Nonstructural Protein 2A (NS2A) Amino Acid Substitution Isolated from the Cerebrospinal Fluid of a Dengue Encephalitis Patient

<div>DENV-3 growth curve of two different isolates, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)- and serum-derived DENV-3 genotype-III, using a mosquito cell line (C6/36) and a human neural cell line (SKNSH). After infection at a multiplicity of infection (MOI) = 0.001, cell culture fluids were collected every 24 hours from 0 to 120 h and titrated by using a focus forming assay on Vero cells. <i>P</i> value was determined using the <i>t</i> test. <i>P</i> value <svg height="8.89449pt" id="M2" style="vertical-align:-1.11981pt" version="1.1" viewbox="-0.0498162 -7.77468 7.75925 8.89449" width="7.75925pt" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><g transform="matrix(.013,0,0,-0.013,0,0)"><path d="M531 71V127L115 310L531 494V550L57 335V285L531 71ZM531 -40V10H57V-40H531Z"></path></g></svg>0.05 was considered significant.</div>
