COVID-19 in Cyanotic Congenital Heart Disease
Figure 2
Schematic presentation of analytical methods available for SARS-CoV-2 detection. A sample should be obtained from the patient by means of a long swab that is inserted into the nostrils and is adequately swept against the walls of the nasopharynx. Following sample collection, RNA extraction is performed followed by any of the analytical laboratory methods (RT-qPCR, RT-LAMP, NGS, CRISPR, and ddPCR). Alternatively, a sample can be collected from the patient’s serum. Blood is then treated to obtain antigens and/or antibodies present which then can be analyzed via ELISA, lateral flow of chemiluminescence immunoassay. Recreated from [20] via BioRender.
