Axial PDFS (a) shows localized marrow oedema signal at the plantar margin of the base of the second metatarsal involving both interosseous (arrow) and plantar Lisfranc footprints (dash). Minor Lisfranc proper periligamentous oedema without a discrete tear or elongation identified, consistent with grade I sprain. Axial PD (b) clearly demonstrates the cortical thickening at the second metatarsal base (arrow).
