A Case Study Using a Behavioural Contract in Alcohol Dependence within a Crisis Home Treatment Team

Behavioural contract.

For two weeks duration unless broken

(i) To reduce alcohol intake by 10% every four days

(ii) To engage with every [local drug and alcohol service] appointment/contact and not be so intoxicated that he cannot engage in discussion.

(iii) To be present and not be intoxicated at the prearranged HTT visits, which will be every other day in the morning.

If any of these points are not adhered to, Mr Y will be discharged from the home treatment team.

If the contract is adhered to, we will discharge to prearranged care with a CMHT in two weeks.

The contract will begin on [starting date]
