Plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in post-AMI LVR. Plasma MDA was measured on day 1 and day 56 post-AMI. Plasma MDA levels were reduced by 36% in ALA-treated mice versus H2O-treated controls, indicating that daily administration of ALA can reduce systemic oxidative stress long after the index event of AMI. as compared with H2O-treated group.
