The mRNA expression levels of ELL2 evaluated by real-time PCR in B cells in 21 patients with IgAN, 18 healthy controls, and 20 disease controls. ELL2 mRNA levels were significantly lower in patients with IgAN than in healthy subjects and in those disease controls (including 5 patients with lupus nephritis, 5 with ANCA-associated vasculitis, 5 with minimal change disease, and 5 with membranous nephropathy), as shown by RT-PCR.
