TGFBR3 Polymorphisms (rs1805110 and rs7526590) Are Associated with Laboratory Biomarkers and Clinical Manifestations in Sickle Cell Anemia

Association of TGFBR3 rs7526590 polymorphism with laboratory biomarkers using the dominant genetic model. SCA individual carriers of the minor allele T (AT+TT) presented increased (a) RDW, (b) PDW, (c) alkaline phosphatase, (d) aspartate aminotransferase (AST), (e) total bilirubin, (f) indirect bilirubin, and (g) LDH, as well as (h) decreased ferritin levels. All values obtained by the Mann–Whitney test, except for RDW and AST, for which the independent -test was used.
