Magnesium Compounds Increase Aquaporin-3 in Human Epidermal Keratinocyte HaCaT Cells

Effects of magnesium compounds on AQP3 mRNA expression levels in HaCaT cells. HaCaT cells were treated with magnesium acetate, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, or magnesium lactate (10 mM or 25 mM). After 6 hours, the mRNA expression level of AQP3 was analyzed by real-time RT-PCR. The mRNA expression levels were normalized to RPL30, and the mean value of the control was expressed as 100% (mean ± S.D., n = 4, , , vs. control).
