Magnesium Compounds Increase Aquaporin-3 in Human Epidermal Keratinocyte HaCaT Cells

Effects of PKA inhibitors on the magnesium acetate-induced upregulation of AQP3 expression. HaCaT cells were treated with magnesium acetate (25 mM) alone or together with H-89 (30 μM). After 3 or 6 hours, the mRNA expression level of AQP3 was analyzed by real-time RT-PCR. The mRNA expression levels were normalized to RPL30, and the mean value of the control was expressed as 100% (mean ± S.D., n = 4, , vs. control, ## vs. magnesium acetate alone).
