Inhibition of protein synthesis in HepG2 cells after incubation with ASMq ethanol extract. Protein synthesis was evaluated by incorporation of 3[H]-leucine during a 2.5 hours pulse. Results are expressed as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments. P < .05 compared with control culture; P < .05, 48 hours versus 24 hours treatment with ASMq ethanol extract.
