Electroacupuncture at Zusanli (ST36) Prevents Intestinal Barrier and Remote Organ Dysfunction following Gut Ischemia through Activating the Cholinergic Anti-Inflammatory-Dependent Mechanism

Intestinal permeability to 4-kDa FITC-dextran at 60 min after gut I/R injury. Electroacupuncture at ST36, VNS, and PNU282987 similarly protected the intestine from an increase in permeability after I/R injury, whereas abdominal vagotomy before EA ST36 eliminates such protection. The administration of α-BGT before EA ST36 also eliminates such protection. # versus IR group, ( animals per group).
