Fluorescent images of HepG2 cells treated with medium alone and 11.43 μg/mL of ZER-HPβCD inclusion complex, stained with (a) Hoechst for nuclear, (b) cell permeability dye, (c) mitochondrial membrane potential dye, and (d) cytochrome c. The images from each row were obtained from the same field of the same treatment sample. ZER-HPβCD inclusion complex showed marked increases in permeability dye, marked reduction in mitochondrial membrane potential, and marked increases in cytochrome c.
