The effect of Sub-A on the production of ROS, glutathione levels, and ATM activation. (a) Sub-A increased the generation of ROS in the A549 and NCI-H460 cells. (b) Sub-A decreased the glutathione levels but (c) increased ATM activation in the A549 and NCI-H460 cells. Cells were treated with 30 μM Sub-A for the indicated times, and the amounts of ROS and glutathione were assayed by H2DCFDA (for ROS) and CMFDA (for glutathione) staining, while the activation of ATM was assessed by immunoblot assay.
