Effect of butein on VEGF-induced angiogenesis in vivo. Matrigel containing VEGF (200 ng/mL) with or without butein in sterile, surgical silicone tubes were subcutaneously placed into C57BL/6 mice. After 15 days, DIVAA tubes was taken and photographed. Hemoglobin was measured as an indication of blood vessel formation, using the Drabkin method.
