PIC treatment increased the level of phosphorylated form of Smad 2 in the lungs of ALI mice. (a) Lung tissues (2-3 lung tissues/group) were collected from mice treated as indicated. Total proteins were isolated from the lung tissues and analyzed for phosphorylated Smad 2 (p-Smad 2) by Western blot. The membrane was stripped and reprobed for Smad 2. (b) Each band was quantitated by ImageJ, and the levels of p-Smad 2 in each group were calculated over Smad 2. Data represent the mean ± SEM of three measurements. and were less than 0.05, compared with the untreated control.
