Anticancer Effect of Nemopilema nomurai Jellyfish Venom on HepG2 Cells and a Tumor Xenograft Animal Model
Figure 1
Effects of NnV on the cell viability in different cancer cells. (a) Cancer Cells (A549, HT-29, MCF-7, MDA-MB231, and HepG2 cells) were incubated for 24 h at various concentrations (0, 0.3, 1, 3, and 10 μg/ml) of NnV. Cell viability was analyzed by the MTT assay. (b) To determine efficient concentrations of cytotoxicity in HepG2, the cells were incubated for 24 h with various concentrations (0–1.4 μg/ml). (c) Apoptosis was measured by PI staining followed by flow cytometry analysis. (d) Hoechst 33342 fluorescence dye staining was performed and nuclear morphology was examined by fluorescence microscopy (Leica) using a 400x objective. The data shown are the mean ± SD of six independent experiments. was considered to indicate statistical significance compared with nontreated controls.
