Cordycepin Accelerates Osteoblast Mineralization and Attenuates Osteoclast Differentiation In Vitro

Cordycepin inhibits RANKL-mediated induction of marker expression in osteoclastogenesis. RAW264.7 cells treated with 25 ng/ml RANKL with or without cordycepin (0.1, 0.5, and 1 μM) for 72 h. (a) Protein expressions of TRAF6, cFOS, phospho-cFOS, and NFATc1 were analyzed by western blot analysis. (b) Relative protein expression levels compared to β-actin were analyzed by image J. OSCAR (c), cathepsin K (d), and MMP9 (e) relative mRNA expression levels were analyzed by real-time RT-PCR.
