Effect of EACe on serum glucose level after sucrose loading in normal (a) and STZ-diabetic rats (b). The rats which fasted 16 hours received EACe (50 mg/kg), acarbose (10 mg/kg), or only distillated water (control) and 30 minutes after, sucrose was administered (p.o.) at 2 g/kg. Blood samples were collected from the tail tip under anesthesia at 30, 60, and 120 min after sucrose loading. Values are mean ± SEM (n = 6) and are analyzed with one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s t-test. < 0.05 versus control; < 0.01 versus control; and < 0.001 versus control.
