Methanolic Extract of Artemia salina Eggs and Various Fractions in Different Solvents Contain Potent Compounds That Decrease Cell Viability of Colon and Skin Cancer Cell Lines and Show Antibacterial Activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Pseudomonas aeruginosa (106 CFU/ml) was cultured on LB agar plates. Fifty microliters of 2 µg/µl stock solutions of the hexane and chloroform extracts was slowly absorbed into the sterilized paper disc (diameter: 8 mm) and adhered to the surface of the plate. One percent silver sulfadiazine was used as a standard. The clear zone around the disk was measured in millimeters. Analysis was performed in triplicate, and the results were reported as the mean ± SD. P < 0.05; P < 0.01; P < 0.01.
