The effect of COE in the SNI neuropathic pain model. (a) Oral administration of COE significantly attenuated hypersensitivity in response to von Frey stimulation from 3 to 15 days in an SNI neuropathic model. The MWTs of the group treated with COE or naproxen remained higher than those of the untreated control group. (b) Administration of COE significantly inhibited the induction of IL-6, IFN-γ, IL-12, and IL-2 expression in DRG neurons of a neuropathic rat model by ELISA. Representative images (c) and relative fluorescence intensity (d) against calpain-3 (Alexa Fluor 488) revealed that COE attenuated the expression of calpain-3.
