Kai-Xin-San, a Chinese Herbal Decoction, Accelerates the Degradation of <i>β</i>-Amyloid by Enhancing the Expression of Neprilysin in Rats

<div>Effect of KXS on NEP activity in PC12 cells. PC12 cells were treated with 10% rat serum containing KXS in the culture medium, thiorphan (NEP inhibitor, 10 <i>μ</i>M), or KXS plus thiorphan for 24 h, respectively. Then PC12 cells were incubated with A<i>β</i> (1 <i>μ</i>M) for 3 h in the culture medium and extracellular A<i>β</i> concentration was investigated using the ELISA kit.
