The Essential Oil from Acori Tatarinowii Rhizome (the Dried Rhizome of Acorus tatarinowii Schott) Prevents Hydrogen Peroxide-Induced Cell Injury in PC12 Cells: A Signaling Triggered by CREB/PGC-1α Activation
Figure 2
ATEO protected PC12 cells from H2O2-mediated injury. (a) PC12 cells were exposed to H2O2 at various concentrations (0–600 μM) for 24 h for cytotoxicity test. (b) PC12 cells were pre-treated with ATEO (1.5, 5 and 15 μg/mL) for 48 h before addition of H2O2 (400 μM) for cytotoxicity test. (c) Nuclear morphological changes of H2O2-treated PC12 cells were shown. PC12 cells were pre-treated with ATEO at low and high concentrations (1.5, 15 μg/mL) and ZLN005 (2 μM) for 48 h before addition of H2O2 (400 μM) for 1 h. Then the cultures were washed with PBS, stained with Hoechest 33258 and fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde. Bar = 20 μm. Representative views were shown, n = 3. Cell viability was detected by MTT assay. Data are expressed as mean ± SEM, where n = 5. , compared with the control group; , compared with the H2O2-treated group.
