Preventive Effects of Chrysanthemum coronarium L. Extract on Bone Metabolism In Vitro and In Vivo
Figure 4
The effect of Chrysanthemum coronarium (L) on receptor activator nuclear-factor κB ligand-induced osteoclast differentiation in the murine macrophage-like cell line RAW 264.7. The cells were treated with the indicated concentrations of (C) coronarium (CC), followed by stimulation with receptor activator nuclear-factor κB ligand (RANKL) (50 ng/mL) for 4 d. (a) Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP)-positive cells were visualized under a light microscope. Scale bar, 200 μm. (b) TRAP-positive cells with more than three nuclei were counted. (c) Cell viability in the presence of different concentrations of CC was assessed. Data are represented as means ± SD, n = 3, , compared with the RANKL treatment group. CC suppresses the expression of osteoclast-mediated genes.
