The following bioactive marker substances were identified: albiflorin and paeoniflorin from <i>Paeonia lactiflora</i>, prim-O-glucosylcimifugin and 5-O-methylvisammioside from <i>Saposhnikovia divaricate</i>, acteoside from <i>Plantago asiatica</i>, and ferulic acid and ligustilide from <i>Angelica sinensis</i> and <i>Ligusticum striatum</i>.
