Induction of Apoptosis in HeLa Cells by a Novel Peptide from Fruiting Bodies of <i>Morchella importuna</i> via the Mitochondrial Apoptotic Pathway

<div>Isolation and purification of MIPP. (a) Gel chromatography. (b) RP-HPLC. (c) Amino acid sequence of MIPP. The crude protein extract of <i>M. importuna</i> was obtained by ammonium sulfate precipitation. Sephadex-30 chromatography was used to purify the crude protein extract, and five characteristic absorption peaks were obtained (A1–5). The A3 component was further separated by RP-HPLC, and four fine components were obtained (B1–4). The B4 component was further analyzed by LC-MS-MS to determine the amino acid composition of MIPP.</div>
