Protective Effects of Alternanthera sessilis Ethanolic Extract against TNF-α or H2O2-Induced Endothelial Activation in Human Aortic Endothelial Cells

Effect of A. sessilis ethanolic extract on TNF-α-induced increased ROS levels in HAECs. HAECs were pretreated with various concentrations of A. sessilis (25–200 μg/mL) or simvastatin (2 μM) for 24 h prior to TNF-α (10 ng/mL) induction for 4 h. After staining the cells with H2-DCFDA for 30 mins, the relative fluorescence unit of each well was measured. Data are presented as the mean ± SEM of three independent experiments (n = 3). #P < 0.05 as compared to the unstimulated control. P < 0.05 as compared to the TNF-α-treated group.
