Protective Effects of Alternanthera sessilis Ethanolic Extract against TNF-α or H2O2-Induced Endothelial Activation in Human Aortic Endothelial Cells
Figure 6
Effect of A. sessilis ethanolic extract on H2O2-induced reduced (a) SOD and (b) CAT activities. HAECs were pretreated with various concentrations of A. sessilis (25–200 μg/mL), simvastatin (2 μM), NAC (10 mM), or dexamethasone (10 μM) for 24 h followed by stimulation with 100 μM of H2O2 for 2 h. Cell lysates were collected, and the assay was performed immediately using SOD or CAT assay kits. The results are presented as the mean ± SEM from three independent experiments (n = 3). #P < 0.05 as compared to the unstimulated control. ∗P < 0.05 as compared to the H2O2-induced group.
